Somerset have secured one of the most influential figures in their dressing room, with England all-rounder Dani Gibson signing a new deal that keeps her at the club until the end of the 2028 season.

At 25, Gibson already carries the numbers and presence of a senior pro. Across the past two campaigns she has featured in eight matches for Somerset, scoring 262 runs and posting a highest score of 77. Those innings have come with a familiar edge: intent, tempo, and a willingness to take responsibility when the order needs a backbone.

“Any opportunity that we have to get Dani back into our environment is always a positive one,” Osborne said. “She brings a wealth of knowledge and experience which you just can't buy.

“We've got a really young group, so any chance they get to spend time around players like Dani and learn from her is a really good one.”
