Moët & Chandon Becomes Title Partner of 2027 Australian Grand Prix

The Australian Grand Prix is getting a new name above the door – and a very familiar one on the podium.

Moët & Chandon will become the title partner of the 2027 Australian Grand Prix, replacing Qatar Airways and adding another high-end chapter to Albert Park’s revolving cast of headline sponsors since COVID-19. Heineken took the slot in 2022, Rolex followed in 2023-24, Louis Vuitton steps in for 2025, and now one of the most recognisable champagne houses in the world is next in line.

This is not a cold introduction. It is a reunion.

From 1985 to 1997, Moët & Chandon bottles were a fixture on the Formula 1 Australian Grand Prix podium, a visual shorthand for victory and excess as the corks flew and drivers drenched each other in foam. The brand has since tightened its grip on the sport, securing the role of official champagne sponsor of Formula 1 in 2025. Making the leap to title partner in Melbourne feels like a natural escalation.

There is history in the city, too. Moët & Chandon first shipped to Melbourne in 1888 for the Centennial Exhibition, and the company leans heavily into that connection. It describes Melbourne as holding a “special place” in the Maison’s story, and sees Australia as one of the great Champagne markets worldwide, with the city giving this title sponsorship a reach that stretches across the Asia-Pacific region.

For the Australian Grand Prix Corporation, the move is about more than a new logo on the event branding. CEO Travis Auld framed the partnership as an attempt to push the race deeper into the luxury space, talking up Moët & Chandon’s association with “excellence, celebration and unforgettable moments” and positioning the 2027 deal as a chance to “set a new benchmark for luxury sporting experiences” at the Albert Park Grand Prix Circuit.

The message from the champagne house runs along the same lines. Being on the bill in Melbourne is presented as both a nod to a market that “means so much” to Moët & Chandon and an opportunity to pour its product – and its image – in front of an even wider Formula 1 audience.

On track, the 2027 Australian Grand Prix keeps its early-season slot. The race will run from April 1-4 as the third round of the Formula 1 calendar, with the usual backdrop of lakeside grandstands, fickle autumn weather and, now, a title sponsor determined to make every podium feel like the centrepiece of a global celebration.
