Manchester United Target Sweden Winger Monica Jusu Bah from BK Häcken

Manchester United are set to make Monica Jusu Bah the latest piece of their summer rebuild, having agreed terms to sign the Sweden winger from BK Häcken ahead of next week’s Women’s Super League transfer deadline.

The 23-year-old is expected to complete the move before Thursday’s cut-off, a timely injection of pace and direct running for a United side still reshaping its squad.

United will pay a fee to Häcken, with the figure undisclosed. It will not be a token sum. Jusu Bah signed an extension with the Swedish club in September 2025 and is under contract until 2028, putting Häcken in a strong negotiating position and underlining how highly they rate her.

This is not a late bloomer drifting onto the radar. Jusu Bah has spent her entire career in Sweden, breaking through at Umeå before earning her move to Häcken in 2023. Each step has been upward, each season a little louder than the last.

The breakthrough moment came in May. Jusu Bah helped Häcken lift the inaugural Women’s Europa Cup, a landmark continental title that pushed several of their players into sharper focus across Europe. Her performances there, against higher-calibre opposition, strengthened the case that she was ready for a bigger stage.

At international level, the trajectory has matched the club rise. Jusu Bah has already made 11 appearances for Sweden and featured in all six of their Women’s World Cup qualifying matches this year, trusted on the biggest stage by a national setup that does not hand out caps lightly.

For United, this is part of a broader push rather than a one-off coup. The club are understood to be targeting at least one more signing before the window closes, a clear sign that the recruitment drive is not finished.

The work has already begun. Defender Andrea Medina has arrived from Atletico Madrid, adding bite and balance at the back. Goalkeeper Janina Leitzig has come in from Leicester City to strengthen competition between the posts.

Now comes Jusu Bah: a wide player in her prime years, battle-tested in Sweden, proven in Europe, and already embedded in the international game.
