Al-Ahli's Bold Attack Against Al-Riyadh: Bosic's Strategy
A new test, a new look, and no hint of caution from Mario Bosic.
The Al-Ahli coach has rolled out an unapologetically attacking side for today’s Saudi league clash with Al-Riyadh, leaning on a front line that screams intent rather than balance.
At the tip of it all: Ivan Toney. The English striker leads the line, flanked by the creativity and direct running of Francisco Trincao and Wenderson Galeno in a sharp, aggressive trident designed to pin Al-Riyadh deep and keep them there.
Behind them, Bosic has built a platform that mixes steel with subtlety. Edouard Mendy starts in goal, the experienced anchor behind a back four of Rayan Hamed, Mohammed Bakr, Roger Ibanez and Saad Bulaihid. Ibanez’s presence offers bite and leadership, while the full-backs are set to provide width and support for the front three.
In midfield, Valentin Atangana and Artem Bondarenko form the engine room, charged with controlling the tempo and protecting the defence. Just ahead of them, Edward Spertsyan operates as the creative hinge, linking play and feeding that dangerous front line.
